Who is behind Avtoceni

Avtoceni (avtoceni.com) is an independent, non-commercial project by Gjorge Karakabakov from Skopje. The site is not affiliated with the importers, the car manufacturers, the media whose tests it links to, or the organisers of the Zlatno Trkalo award. There is no registration, no user accounts and nothing is sold.

What we collect

The site runs without a server-side database. The only data related to you is the following:

• Visit statistics (Google Analytics 4), only after you click 'Accept' on the banner. Google sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and processes an anonymised IP address, device, browser and pages visited. If you decline, nothing is loaded; your choice is stored locally in the browser.
• Browser preferences (localStorage): language, currency, theme, your banner choice and the list of cars picked for comparison. They are never sent to a server.
• Bug reports sent with the 'Report an issue' button (SnagFrog). You send only what you type, optionally an email for a reply, and technical details about the page and browser. SnagFrog processes the data on behalf of Avtoceni, solely to fix the reported problem.
• Hosting server logs (Netlify) containing the IP address and time of a request, deleted automatically after a short period.

Third-party services

Videos are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com and load only when you click them; YouTube/Google's terms then apply. Car photos are displayed from the importers' websites or Wikimedia Commons, so those servers see your IP address when loading them. Links to media and importers lead to their sites and their policies.

Your rights

Under the Law on Personal Data Protection you have the right to access, correct and delete data relating to you. Because Avtoceni keeps no accounts, the only data we can delete are bug reports: write to us and we will remove them. Google Analytics cookies can be deleted in your browser, and consent can be withdrawn by clearing the site data for avtoceni.com.

Content and sources

Prices and variant data are read automatically from the publicly published price lists of the official importers and shown for information, with source and date. Tests and videos are only links to and embeds of content published by the media. If you hold the rights to a photo or other content and want it removed, write to us and we will do so right away.
